A leather garment offers the best possible abrasion resistance, hence leather is the most seen fabric in 2-piece leather suits. There's no waterproof membrane fitted inside, but to maintain the leather's qualities, it needs to be greased on a regular basis, which also makes the leather fairly waterproof. 2-piece suits are versatile and ideal during stops as the jacket can be unzipped from the pants.
